Vulcain marks one of the most significant achievements in its history with the launch of the Vulcain Grand Prix Petite Seconde Limited Edition, created to celebrate the prestigious award the brand won in 1929 at the Barcelona International Exhibition. This historic distinction now finds modern expression through a striking new aubergine dial, adding depth and personality to the Grand Prix collection.
A bold new color in two distinctive executions
The rich and mysterious purple hue introduces a fresh visual identity to the Grand Prix Petite Seconde, interacting beautifully with light while preserving the collection’s elegant character. Vulcain offers this new dial in two versions: a limited edition of just 25 pieces, distinguished by a refined silver small seconds sub-dial at 6 o’clock, and a non-limited edition that embraces a fully monochromatic “all purple” aesthetic for a bolder statement.
Classic Grand Prix case design and proportions
Both versions are housed in the familiar 39 mm stainless steel case, measuring 12.70 mm in thickness, and finished with a combination of polished and brushed surfaces. A double-domed sapphire crystal enhances the vintage-inspired look, while the smooth bezel keeps the design clean and timeless. The watch features a fluted crown engraved with the Vulcain logo, a screwed solid case back, and offers 50 meters of water resistance, making it well suited for daily wear.
A refined dial layout with small seconds display
The domed aubergine dial features a sunburst finish, applied Arabic numerals, and polished hour and minute hands. At 6 o’clock sits a recessed small seconds sub-dial with a finely textured background, providing visual balance and a touch of classic watchmaking charm. A printed minute track runs along the periphery, while the Vulcain logo and Grand Prix designation are positioned at noon.
Automatic movement with modern reliability
Powering the Vulcain Grand Prix Petite Seconde is the Landeron 24S6 automatic movement, based on the L24 caliber. The movement operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz) and offers a 40-hour power reserve, delivering reliable performance in line with the collection’s everyday elegance.

The limited edition of 25 pieces, featuring the contrasting silver small seconds sub-dial, is priced at € 1,460. The non-limited all-purple version joins the permanent collection at € 1,390. Orders placed between December 19 and January 5 will be processed and shipped starting January 6.
