With summer in full swing, Tissot adds a fresh and vibrant update to its Seastar 1000 Chronograph line, introducing a new 38mm model featuring a rose gold PVD-coated case and a striking turquoise dial and strap combination. This latest release brings seasonal color and refined detailing to the already popular Seastar collection.
Compact and Capable Dive Watch Design
The new Tissot Seastar 1000 Chronograph continues the collection’s sporty legacy in a 38 mm stainless steel case, this time finished in a luxurious rose gold PVD coating. The case measures 12.95 mm in thickness, with a mostly brushed finish across the surface and polished bevels that elevate its appearance. It’s equipped with a unidirectional rotating bezel featuring a turquoise mineral insert and engraved dive scale, along with a screw-down crown and two pushers, ensuring solid water resistance of up to 300 meters (1000 ft).
Protecting the dial is a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment, while the screw-down caseback is decorated with the signature Seastar engraved seahorse motif—a hallmark of the collection.
Turquoise Dial with Gradient Finish and Chronograph Layout
At the heart of the watch is a turquoise dial with a gradient (fumé) effect, transitioning from a vibrant center to a deeper shade toward the edges. The dial maintains the classic tri-compax chronograph layout, including a 1/10th second counter at 2 o’clock, running seconds at 6 o’clock, and a 30-minute totalizer at 10 o’clock. A round date window with a white background is neatly positioned at 4 o’clock.
Legibility is enhanced with applied gilt hour markers and faceted hands filled with Super-LumiNova, while the central chronograph seconds hand features Tissot’s trademark T-shaped counterweight. Brand markings are positioned at 12 o’clock, with the “Seastar” signature located off-center at 8 o’clock.
Reliable Swiss Quartz Chronograph Movement
Powering the watch is the Swiss Quartz Caliber G10.212, a reliable and low-maintenance movement featuring an EOL (end-of-life) indicator, ensuring timely battery replacement. It operates using a Renata 394-type battery and delivers precise chronograph functionality suited for both daily wear and water sports.
Turquoise Rubber Strap with Quick-Release System
Completing the look is an 18 mm turquoise rubber strap that perfectly matches the dial. The strap is equipped with quick-release spring bars for easy tool-free changes and closes with a rose gold PVD-coated steel pin buckle, complementing the case finish.
