A Splash Of Purple: Oris Aquis Date For Ben Bridge
Oris expands its Aquis Date lineup with two new limited edition models developed in collaboration with Ben Bridge Jeweler, the Seattle-based watch retailer. These special editions stand out for their rich purple mother-of-pearl dials—a nod to Ben Bridge’s signature color—and are offered in two case sizes to suit different wrist preferences.
Built from stainless steel, the two references include a 43.50 mm model limited to 125 pieces and a more compact 36.50 mm version limited to just 40 pieces. Both versions are rated for 300 meters of water resistance and feature screw-down crowns, ensuring dive-ready durability. Protecting the dial is a double-domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on the underside. The cases are topped with unidirectional rotating bezels in matte stainless steel, each detailed with polished numerals and markers in relief.
At the heart of each watch is the standout dial—purple mother-of-pearl, shifting in tone depending on light and angle. Applied hour markers and alpha-style hands are treated with Super-LumiNova for low-light visibility. A date aperture sits at 6 o’clock, maintaining symmetry and legibility with a clean white background.
Around the back, a mineral glass caseback reveals the automatic movement inside—Oris Calibre 733, based on the Sellita SW200-1. This movement operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour, has 26 jewels, and delivers a 41-hour power reserve. The caseback also bears the engraved Ben Bridge signature, further distinguishing the limited edition nature of these models.
The watches are mounted on stainless steel 3-link bracelets. The larger 43.50 mm variant includes Oris’ patented quick-adjust clasp system, for rapid sizing adjustments. The smaller 36.50 mm version forgoes the extension system but retains the same brushed and polished bracelet design.
Both sizes are priced at USD 2,500 and are available through Ben Bridge retail locations, with today launch event held at the Timeworks store in Seattle’s University Village.
