Panerai presents the new Submersible Navy SEALs PAM01738, a model that carries the distinctive design language of the recently unveiled Navy SEALs Experience Edition while offering a more accessible and practical configuration for everyday wear.

The new reference remains faithful to the tactical aesthetics associated with the collaboration between Panerai and the elite U.S. Navy SEALs unit, combining professional dive-watch capabilities with the brand’s unmistakable Submersible DNA.

A More Wearable 44mm Case

The PAM01738 comes housed in a brushed stainless steel case measuring 44 mm in diameter. Compared to the larger 47 mm hafnium-cased Navy SEALs Experience Edition, the reduced dimensions make the watch easier to wear on a wider range of wrists while maintaining the robust character expected from a professional diving instrument.

Protecting the dial is a sapphire crystal, while the solid screw-down caseback helps ensure an impressive water resistance rating of 500 metres. The watch is equipped with Panerai’s signature crown-protecting bridge and a unidirectional rotating bezel featuring a matte black insert designed for underwater timing.

Tactical-Inspired Dial Design

The dial follows the visual codes established by the Navy SEALs collection, featuring a textured surface with a smoky grey-to-black fumé effect. The dark finish reinforces the military-inspired character while creating a strong contrast with the luminous indications.

Large circular hour markers and bold hands are treated with Super-LumiNova for enhanced readability in low-light environments. The partially skeletonized hands contribute to the contemporary look of the watch while maintaining excellent legibility.

A small seconds display is positioned at 9 o’clock and features an orange-tipped hand that adds a subtle touch of colour to the otherwise monochromatic design. Opposite, at 3 o’clock, sits a practical date window integrated into the dial layout.

Powered by the P.980 Calibre

Inside the case beats the automatic Panerai P.980 calibre, a movement designed to provide reliable daily performance. The movement delivers a power reserve of approximately 72 hours, allowing the watch to remain running throughout an entire weekend when not worn.

The calibre supports central hours, minutes, small seconds, and date functions, offering a straightforward and functional display consistent with the tool-watch philosophy of the Submersible collection.

While positioned below the exclusive Experience Edition, the PAM01738 remains a serious diving instrument. Its 500-metre water resistance, robust steel construction, and unidirectional rotating bezel ensure it is fully equipped for demanding underwater use.
