Panerai expands its modern Luminor lineup with a new compact ceramic reference: the Luminor GMT Ceramica 40 mm PAM01783. The model combines the brand’s signature design architecture with a versatile 40 mm size, a robust GMT function, and a fully ceramic exterior engineered for durability. This edition is limited to 80 pieces and sold exclusively online.

A 40mm Case Engineered in Black Ceramic

The PAM01783 features a 40 mm case made entirely from sandblasted black ceramic, a material Panerai has long embraced for its hardness, scratch resistance, and light weight. The construction includes the brand’s unmistakable crown-protecting bridge, also crafted in ceramic and finished with a blend of satin and polished surfaces to highlight its form. Despite the reduction in diameter, the watch maintains full Luminor specifications, including a professional-grade 300-meter water-resistance rating. Panerai has also reinforced the lugs to comply with its internal shock-resistance requirements, ensuring the watch remains reliable during both daily wear and more demanding use.

Blue Sunbrushed Sandwich Dial

This reference introduces a blue sunbrushed sandwich dial, delivering a refined contrast between the upper surface and the Super-LumiNova X2 layer beneath it. The cutout numerals and hour markers allow the luminous material to glow evenly, while the small seconds display at 9 o’clock includes four tiny openings that reveal the lume below. All hands are finished in black to visually connect with the ceramic case, including the central GMT hand which uses a luminous arrow tip for quick reading of a second time zone. The date window is equipped with a color-matched blue disc, ensuring a uniform aesthetic across the dial.

Dual-Time Functionality

The watch offers practical dual-time capability through a central 12-hour GMT hand, allowing the wearer to read both local and reference time intuitively. With the absence of a peripheral minute track, the dial adopts a cleaner, more contemporary appearance while still delivering essential functionality for travelers.

P.900/GMT Automatic Movement

A smoked sapphire crystal caseback reveals the P.900/GMT automatic movement, which powers the watch with a three-day power reserve generated by a single barrel. The calibre’s bidirectional winding system supports efficient energy delivery, and the inclusion of a stop-seconds mechanism allows for precise time setting. Manufactured within the Richemont group at ValFleurier, the P.900/GGMT is recognized for its slim design and dependable performance.

Strap System and Accessories

Panerai equips the PAM01783 with its tool-free interchangeable strap system, enabling quick changes between the included straps. The watch is delivered with a black calfskin strap for a classic everyday look and an additional blue rubber strap that complements the dial and enhances its sporty versatility.
