A New Shade Of Discretion: Parmigiani Tonda PF Micro-Rotor Agave Blue
Parmigiani Fleurier continues to develop its Tonda PF Micro-Rotor line with the introduction of a new Agave Blue dial, expanding a collection defined by slim proportions, refined finishing, and discreet luxury. The new version is available in stainless steel with a platinum bezel as well as full 18k rose gold, and becomes part of the brand’s permanent collection.

Both references maintain the established dimensions of the Micro-Rotor models. The case measures 40 mm in diameter and just 7.80 mm in thickness, giving the watch a notably slender profile for an automatic timepiece. The overall case architecture remains consistent with the Tonda PF design language, featuring softly contoured lugs and a mix of satin-brushed and polished surfaces. The finely knurled bezel—executed in platinum 950 on the steel model and rose gold on the gold version—adds texture while remaining visually restrained. A screw-down crown provides 100 meters of water resistance, reinforcing the watch’s versatility.

The new Agave Blue dial introduces a nuanced color tone that shifts between blue and green, depending on the light. It is decorated with Parmigiani Fleurier’s signature Grain d’Orge hand-guilloché pattern, offering visual depth without compromising clarity. Applied hour markers and skeletonized delta-shaped hands ensure strong legibility, with finishes matched to the case material: rhodium-plated for the steel reference and rose gold for the gold model. The absence of a date display keeps the dial layout symmetrical and intentionally minimal.

Inside the case is the in-house calibre PF703, an ultra-thin automatic movement developed specifically for the Micro-Rotor line. The movement measures 3.07 mm thick and uses a recessed platinum 950 micro-rotor, allowing the overall case height to remain exceptionally slim. It operates at 21,600 vibrations per hour and offers a 48-hour power reserve. Through the sapphire caseback, the movement’s finishing is clearly visible, including Côtes de Genève, perlage, and finely bevelled bridges.

Each version of the Tonda PF Micro-Rotor Agave Blue is paired with an integrated bracelet that matches the case material, secured by a folding clasp. Pricing is set at CHF 23,700 for the stainless steel model with platinum bezel and CHF 58,000 for the full rose gold version.
With this latest dial variation, Parmigiani Fleurier continues to refine the Tonda PF Micro-Rotor as a modern, technically sophisticated dress watch defined by precision, proportion, and understated detail.
Our Take
The Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF line remains one of my personal favorites in the discreet luxury segment—a space that still flies under the radar for much of the wider public. That relative anonymity may well be linked to pricing, especially in a market crowded with high-profile alternatives at similar levels.
Within the collection, several models stand out to me. The minute rattrapante is remarkably clever and impressively well executed; the limited-edition skeleton with slate green accents was a watch I genuinely fell for last year; and of course, the Tonda PF Micro-Rotor itself. Despite being automatic, it almost convinces you that you’re looking at a hand-wound movement—until the micro-rotor quietly gives it away—while still preserving the slender profile usually associated with manual calibres.

That said, many of these references continue to lean toward wider case diameters, which personally leaves me gravitating toward the 36 mm Tonda PF Automatic. But complaints aside, the real story here is the introduction of the Agave Blue dial. Its blue-green tone adds a fresh dimension to the Micro-Rotor lineup and sits beautifully alongside the equally striking Golden Siena with its warm yellow-orange hue. It’s a thoughtful addition that broadens the collection and gives enthusiasts more expressive yet still understated options to choose from.
