The Tonda PF Sport collection gains a new addition for 2026 with the arrival of the Tonda PF Sport Chronograph Ultra-Cermet Mineral Blue, a model that combines advanced materials technology with the refined aesthetics that define the contemporary Tonda PF family.
Ultra-Cermet: A High-Tech Composite Material
At the heart of this release is Ultra-Cermet, a proprietary composite material that blends ceramic with approximately 40% titanium. Developed for demanding industrial applications, the material offers the scratch resistance and hardness associated with ceramic while retaining the metallic appearance and tactile feel of titanium. Measuring around 1,450 Vickers in hardness, Ultra-Cermet significantly exceeds traditional steel in resistance to wear and surface damage.
The manufacturing process relies on sintering technology, where microscopic ceramic and titanium particles are compressed under high temperature and pressure without reaching their melting point. Once formed, the components are finished using diamond tooling, allowing the creation of intricate shapes and precise tolerances that would be difficult to achieve with conventional materials.
A Case Built Almost Entirely In Ultra-Cermet
The 42.50 mm case of the Tonda PF Sport Chronograph Ultra-Cermet Mineral Blue showcases the extensive use of this material. The case middle, fluted bezel, screw-down crown and chronograph pushers are all produced from Ultra-Cermet, highlighting the brand’s expertise in working with this technically demanding composite.
The case measures 13.30 mm thick and features alternating satin-brushed and polished surfaces that emphasise the material’s metallic appearance while preserving the understated elegance of the collection. Water resistance is rated at 100 metres.
The New Mineral Blue Dial
This latest version introduces a new Mineral Blue colour scheme. The dial receives a Blackor treatment that creates a dark metallic base, contrasted by blue chronograph counters whose tone changes depending on the surrounding light conditions. The satin-finished surface adds depth to the display while maintaining the monochromatic character of the watch.
Applied hour markers crafted from 18k gold and coated in Blackor are paired with openworked gold hands, both featuring luminescent treatment for improved legibility. The chronograph hands, small seconds hand and applied PF logo continue the dark theme, reinforcing the technical and contemporary appearance of the watch.
The High-Frequency PF070 Manufacture Movement
Powering the chronograph is the automatic manufacture calibre PF070, developed in collaboration with Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier. The integrated movement uses both a column wheel and a vertical clutch architecture, solutions typically associated with high-end chronograph construction due to their smooth operation and precise engagement.
Operating at 36,000 vibrations per hour (5Hz), the movement delivers chronograph measurements with enhanced precision while maintaining a power reserve of approximately 65 hours. The COSC-certified calibre consists of 288 components and remains relatively slim at only 6.95 mm thick.
Visible through the sapphire crystal caseback, the movement features openworked bridges decorated with satin brushing and hand-finished bevels. Completing the display is a skeletonised 22k rose gold rotor combining polished and sandblasted surfaces.

The watch is fitted with a textured Mineral Blue rubber strap secured by an Ultra-Cermet pin buckle matching the case material and finish.
