A New Frederique Constant x Time+Tide Collaboration Debuts The Highlife Onyx Moon

Frederique Constant expands its Highlife line with a new limited edition created in partnership with Time+Tide: the Highlife Moonphase Manufacture Onyx Moon. This model marks several firsts for the Highlife collection, bringing together a refined stone dial, a moon phase complication, and a new bracelet execution for the series—all within the brand’s accessible manufacture philosophy.

A New Direction for the Highlife Collection

Since its introduction in 2020, the Highlife has become Frederique Constant’s modern sports-luxury platform, known for its integrated case design and interchangeable straps. The new Onyx Moon edition introduces an important mechanical update, as the Moonphase Date Manufacture calibre FC-716—previously reserved for the brand’s more classical watches—appears for the first time in a Highlife model.

The watch is housed in a 41 mm stainless steel case that measures approximately 12.50 mm thick and spans 45 mm lug-to-lug, maintaining the collection’s characteristic proportions and its water resistance of 100 metres. While the case architecture remains unchanged, the watch debuts a new five-link Jubilee-style bracelet that combines brushed and polished finishing for a more intricate look while remaining fully compatible with the Highlife quick-change strap system.

Onyx Dial With a Clean, Uncluttered Layout

One of the most distinctive elements of this edition is its onyx stone dial, which replaces the embossed globe pattern commonly associated with the Highlife collection. The deep black surface creates a uniform, light-absorbing backdrop that emphasises the watch’s minimalist design.

Frederique Constant has deliberately removed applied indices and lume, allowing the high-polish and brushed facets of the central hands to stand out against the onyx background. At 6 o’clock, the moonphase display is presented with a black sky and crisp white date numerals. The red number “31” adds a small visual accent that mirrors the Geneve inscription beneath the brand logo at 12 o’clock. The moon itself features a textured surface that gives the display a more realistic representation.

Three-Day Power Reserve Manufacture Movement

Powering the watch is the automatic FC-716 Manufacture calibre, which received a significant upgrade in 2024. Its larger mainspring barrel supplies a power reserve of 72 hours, almost doubling the autonomy of earlier versions of this movement. The calibre retains its moon phase and date functions and features reworked bridges decorated with fan-shaped Côtes de Genève. These details, along with the openworked rotor, are visible through the sapphire caseback and reinforce the watch’s manufacture status.

Three-Strap Set for Versatile Wear

The Highlife Moonphase Manufacture Onyx Moon is delivered with a complete three-strap set. In addition to the stainless steel five-link bracelet, the package includes a black nubuck-style leather strap as well as a black textured rubber strap. Each strap can be swapped instantly thanks to the brand’s integrated quick-release system, allowing the watch to alternate seamlessly between sporty, casual, and more formal looks.

The model is limited to 100 pieces worldwide, with 50 units allocated to Frederique Constant and the remaining 50 to Time+Tide. The Highlife Moonphase Manufacture Onyx Moon will be available from today – 12 December 2025 at 6 PM CET at a retail price of € 4,895.
