Dennison expands its Dual Time collection with the introduction of the ALD Dual Time “Shades” Dial, a release that focuses on subtle visual complexity and functional elegance. Designed by Emmanuel Gueit, this new series builds on the brand’s minimalist foundation while introducing a new dial execution and an original bracelet design.

A Dial Defined by Light Interaction

At first glance, the dial appears to be rendered in a single tone, offered in blue, green, or brown. However, a closer look reveals a more intricate approach. Each dial is divided into two sections, one finished with vertical brushing and the other with horizontal brushing. This contrast in texture creates a dynamic interaction with light, allowing the color to shift subtly depending on the viewing angle.

Rather than relying on multiple hues, Dennison achieves depth through finishing techniques alone. The result is a controlled visual effect where the dial appears to display two shades of the same color, reinforcing the watch’s refined and understated character.

Dual Time Layout with Enhanced Legibility

The ALD Dual Time “Shades” Dial introduces a more structured and legible approach to displaying two time zones. The dial’s visual split is echoed by the use of different numeral styles on each side. On the left, baton indexes are paired with Arabic numerals, while the right side combines the same indexes with Roman numerals.

This thoughtful distinction is not purely aesthetic. It helps the wearer quickly differentiate between the two time zones, improving usability without compromising the overall balance of the design.

Case and Proportions

The watch retains the compact proportions that define the ALD Dual Time collection. Its polished stainless steel case measures 37 mm by 35.60 mm and maintains a slim profile of just 6.10 mm in thickness. This slender construction is complemented by a flat sapphire crystal and a snap-on steel caseback, while water resistance is rated at 30 meters.

Quartz Precision and Dual Time Functionality

Powering the watch are two Swiss quartz Ronda 1032 movements, each responsible for independently tracking hours and minutes. This configuration allows the wearer to monitor two different time zones simultaneously with precision and ease.

The use of quartz movements also contributes to the watch’s slim profile and reliability, reinforcing its practical appeal as a travel companion.

The New Pebble-Link Bracelet

One of the key novelties of this release is the introduction of a stainless steel pebble-link bracelet. Its five-row construction features larger links on the outer edges and smaller ones in the center, creating a fluid and organic look reminiscent of polished stones.

The bracelet is fitted with a concealed clasp, ensuring a seamless visual flow across the wrist.
