A New Chapter For Schwarz Etienne: The 1902 Réserve De Marche
The independent Swiss manufacture Schwarz Etienne expands its 1902 collection with a new reference: the 1902 Réserve de Marche. Continuing the design language of the previously released 1902 Petite Seconde, this latest model introduces a power reserve indicator into a compact and contemporary hand-wound timepiece.
Titanium Case with Balanced Proportions
The 1902 Réserve de Marche is housed in a Grade 5 titanium case, measuring 39 mm in diameter and 10.90 mm in thickness. The case construction combines satin-brushed and polished surfaces, offering visual contrast and enhancing the play of light across the watch’s profile. With a water resistance of 50 meters, the case is designed for versatility in daily wear. The fluted crown, engraved with the Schwarz Etienne logo, is ergonomically shaped for ease of manual winding.
Dual Dial Options with Geometric Harmony
Two dial variants are available: silver and 4N gold-toned. Both dials feature a refined architectural layout. A grained central surface is framed by a broad outer ring, where applied rhodium-plated indexes and black Arabic numerals at four distinct positions (4, 8, 10, and 11 o’clock) structure the design. The outermost minute track is presented in opaline with black markings, ensuring precise legibility.

Key functional elements are placed asymmetrically but harmoniously: the power reserve indicator sits at 2 o’clock, presented in black and white with fine detailing. The small seconds subdial at 6 o’clock incorporates a snailed texture, polished ring, and clearly printed scale, adding depth and utility to the overall layout. Time is displayed via Lance-style hour and minute hands, crafted in silver-tone metal to complement both dial variants.

In-House Calibre with Long Autonomy
At the heart of the watch is the MSE 311.00 calibre, a fully in-house hand-wound movement produced by Schwarz Etienne at its La Chaux-de-Fonds workshop. This movement features twin mainspring barrels mounted in parallel, enabling a substantial power reserve of 120 hours (five days). The operating frequency is 3 Hz (21,600 vibrations/hour), and the movement includes a stop-seconds (hacking) function for precise time setting.

The sapphire caseback reveals a detailed and carefully finished movement. Bridges are adorned with straight Côtes de Genève, while the mainplate features sandblasted and rhodium-plated surfaces with polished bevels. Notably, the ratchet wheels display alternating satin-brushed and diamond-cut finishing, adding subtle texture under light.
Strap and Price
Both dial versions are delivered on rubber-lined alligator leather straps, selected to balance elegance and durability. The silver dial variant is paired with a black strap, while the 4N gold-toned dial comes with a brown strap. A titanium pin buckle, engraved with the Schwarz Etienne logo, secures the strap.

The retail price of the Schwarz Etienne 1902 Réserve de Marche is CHF 19,500 plus taxes.
