A. Lange & Söhne Celebrates Automotive Elegance At Villa D’Este 2025
Once again, timeless craftsmanship met automotive excellence on the shores of Lake Como, as A. Lange & Söhne marked its ongoing partnership with the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este by presenting a truly unique timepiece.
From May 23 to 25, the prestigious classic car event brought together some of the world’s most remarkable vintage automobiles at the Grand Hotel Villa d’Este in Cernobbio, Italy. Among the 50 carefully selected participants, the coveted “Best of Show” trophy was awarded to a 1934 Alfa Romeo Tipo B (P3) from the Auriga Collection in Germany — a shining example of motoring history.

To honour this remarkable vehicle, Lange CEO Wilhelm Schmid presented the winner with a one-of-a-kind 1815 CHRONOGRAPH “Como Edition”. Crafted in white gold and featuring a solid pink-gold dial and a hand-engraved hinged cuvette bearing the Concorso’s coat of arms, the watch is a tribute to both precision engineering and historical preservation.
A. Lange & Söhne’s participation in the event is more than ceremonial. The brand has been an official partner since 2012, and the annual creation of a unique chronograph underlines the deep connection between mechanical watchmaking and classic automotive design — both worlds where heritage, innovation, and attention to detail thrive.
The 1815 CHRONOGRAPH reflects these values, from its manually wound calibre comprising over 300 finely finished components, to its subtle vintage-inspired design. It’s a celebration not just of time, but of tradition — and of forward momentum built on timeless principles.

Alongside the special edition, guests at Villa d’Este also had the chance to explore the latest Lange creations shown at Watches and Wonders 2025, including two new 1815 models with rich blue dials, as well as standout pieces like the MINUTE REPEATER PERPETUAL and the ODYSSEUS HONEYGOLD.
As Schmid summed up: “The Concorso d’Eleganza has become a beloved tradition for us. It’s the perfect stage to honour the past while celebrating what’s possible through craftsmanship.”
