A Fresh Splash: Oris Aquis Date Watermelon Dials In Green And Red
Oris has just released the new Aquis Date Watermelon Dials, which we had already had the opportunity to see and try during Watches And Wonders, and although the weather at that time was still cool in Geneva, we immediately realized that they would be a blast for the summer.
So, the watermelon is the fruit chosen by Oris to liven up the upcoming bathing season and the choice is simple between vivid green or bright red, with the certainty that whatever the choice, good vibes are guaranteed.
The new Aquis Date Watermelon comes in the reconfigured 41.50 mm by 12.90 mm stainless steel case introduced at the beginning of April, which we had the opportunity to talk about at that time here and if you want to know more you can do so through the link, unidirectional bezel with insert in ceramic, which here comes in white with the scale in the same tone as the dial, sapphire glass, screw-down crown with the brand’s logo and protected by guards, open case back and 300m of water resistance.
The watermelon dial in green or red comes with a sunray-brushed finish, featuring applied polished hour markers and Alpha hands all filled with Super-LumiNova, a lollipop centre seconds hand and a date window at 6 o’clock that contradicts the latest updates to come with a white background and not a matching one, but this time it works perfectly.
Inside we once again find the Oris Caliber 733 automatic movement based on the Sellita SW200-1 that runs at 28,800 Vph and offers up to 38 hours of power reserve.
The two new Aquis, like the rest of the collection, now come with a redesigned stainless steel bracelet that is more tapered with a folding clasp with the brand’s signature and arrive with a tag price of € 2,400.
