A Closer Look At The New Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control Calendar
Jaeger-LeCoultre has expanded its Master Control collection with a striking new interpretation of the Master Control Calendar, a model that perfectly blends vintage inspiration with contemporary refinement. Limited to 500 pieces, this release highlights the Maison’s tradition of technical precision and understated design.
A Legacy of Precision
First introduced in 1992, the Master Control line was conceived to embody Jaeger-LeCoultre’s technical excellence and timeless style. Every watch in the collection undergoes the brand’s demanding “1000 Hours Control” testing, ensuring high levels of accuracy and reliability. The Master Control Calendar, introduced in its current form in 2020, draws on the brand’s triple calendar movements of the 1940s, presenting a layout that balances functionality with elegance.

Sector-Style Dial with Two-Tone Finish
The most distinctive feature of this new edition is its two-tone, grained, sector-style dial, alternating shades of light and dark grey enhance legibility and give the watch a strong visual character. The date is displayed around the periphery of the dial and indicated by a central pointer hand with a red tip. To avoid obstructing the moon phase aperture at 6 o’clock, this hand performs a 90° jump between the 15th and 16th of each month, a clever technical detail that ensures both clarity and balance.

The upper section of the dial is reserved for the day and month apertures, while the moon phase and small seconds sit at the 6 o’clock position, set against a deep blue starry background that adds a touch of colour and elegance. Time is indicated by faceted Dauphine hands moving over applied triangular indices and Arabic numerals, which, combined with subtle luminous accents, make the watch both functional and refined. The grained textures across the segmented surfaces provide depth and richness, giving this model a striking yet understated presence.
Case and Movement
The Master Control Calendar is housed in a 40 mm stainless steel case measuring 10.95mm in thickness. Its brushed and polished finishes highlight the balanced proportions, creating a versatile watch that feels equally at home in formal and casual settings. The watch is delivered on a black calfskin strap with Jaeger-LeCoultre’s interchangeable strap system and a double folding clasp, allowing for easy customization.

Inside beats the Calibre 866AA, an automatic movement equipped with a silicon escapement and offering a robust 70-hour power reserve. As with all Master Control models, it is subjected to Jaeger-LeCoultre’s stringent “1000 Hours Control” certification, a guarantee of precision and reliability under real-life conditions.
