Vacheron Constantin continues to expand its realm of technical mastery and artistic expression with the release of the Les Cabinotiers Temporis Duo Grand Complication Openface, a unique piece created as part of its Les Cabinotiers bespoke division. Designed as a one-of-a-kind creation, the watch brings together a minute repeater, tourbillon, and split-seconds chronograph, all housed within a striking openworked display crafted from sapphire.

A Contemporary Presentation of Classical Watchmaking

Encased in 18K pink gold, the Temporis Duo is a showcase of high complication in a format that veers away from classical aesthetics. Its sapphire dial reveals a layered, finely executed movement and brings a contemporary flair to an otherwise traditional architecture.

The dial layout departs from convention with its asymmetrical arrangement: hours and minutes are displayed at 9 o’clock, the chronograph minutes at 2 o’clock, and the small seconds – driven by the tourbillon – at 6 o’clock. Each subdial features frosted sapphire chapter rings, surrounded by pink gold rings applied via metal vapor deposition on the underside of the dial. The design gives the impression of floating mechanics, offering full visibility into the split-seconds chronograph components.

The bridges are frosted and bordered with straight-grained edges, creating contrast and depth. Relief-engraved markings, along with the Geneva Seal and a raised Maltese cross, reinforce both the craftsmanship and the heritage associated with the manufacture.

Viewed from the caseback, the intricate layout of the minute repeater becomes visible. The hammers, gongs, and centrifugal governor are prominently displayed, along with a power reserve indicator that provides practical information on the hand-wound movement’s autonomy.
