A Closer Look At Oris’ Upgraded Aquis Date
This year seems to be a celibate year for Oris as during Watches And Wonders there were few novelties brought by the Swiss watch brand, with many still remembering the Kermit frog appearing on the dial in one of the many novelties brought by the brand last year at the show.
However, this year the path chosen was another whose main novelty, at least until now, was the improvements introduced in the Aquis Date model.

The Oris Aquis is a diving watch that celebrated its 10th anniversary last year. Since then, the watch has undergone several improvements, with the Aquis Date introducing in 2020 the new option of In-house Caliber 400 and Quick Strap System.
This year the watch changes again but this time more on an aesthetic level, now coming with a Quick-Adjust Clasp which, like the Quick Strap System, continues to be only available for models equipped with the Caliber 400, faceted lugs, redesigned crown guards and tapered bracelet with the central links becoming wider.

There are also clear improvements on the dial, now featuring faceted hour markers and elegant hands, with all of them being filled with Super-LumiNova, the background of the date window matching the colour of the dial (at last!) and even a new text font that is also applied to the bezel dip scale.
The Oris Aquis Date Caliber 400 continues to be available in a 43.50mm case with a blue, green or Upcycle dial (made from recycled PET plastic) with the option of a rubber strap in the shade of the dial or a steel bracelet. Prices vary between €3,600 and €3,700 respectively and another €50 for the Upcycle dial.

The Oris Aquis Date Caliber 733 (powered by Sellita) is available in three sizes: 43.50mm, 41.50mm and 36.50mm, which in addition to the three colour options on the dial of the Caliber 400 version also adds black and beige with prices varying between €2,200 and €2,400 for the rubber strap and steel bracelet options respectively, to which €50 is added if, like the Caliber 400, they opt for the Upcycled dial.
